COVID-19 Update from CEO of the Active Care Group, Ruth Smith

As we move into a month-long national lockdown in England we wanted to reassure you that we continue to take all possible measures to reduce the risk of transmission of Coronavirus to our clients, patients, service users and our people.

Throughout the pandemic we have complied with national and local guidance in relation to Covid-19. We continue to adapt our policies, processes and working practices to ensure the safety of those we support and our people. PPE stocks have been maintained and deployed in accordance with national guidance and we have established an operational Covid-19 leadership team. The team meet weekly to review our Covid-19 strategy, share best practice, update on guidance changes, liaise with our third-party stakeholders and ensure we maintain a pro-active approach to the challenges we face. In addition, we have put in place our seasonal flu campaign measures. and will continue to ensure our infection prevention and control measures are regularly reviewed and adhered to across all services.

We recognise that this year has been an incredibly difficult year for our clients, patients, service users, their families and loved ones. We are incredibly proud of our team for the resilience they have shown and the continued care and support they provide. As England enters this second lockdown on Thursday 5 November, we appreciate that the coming months will again present as a challenge for many of us. We will therefore be providing a framework of support to maintain the mental health of those we provide care for, their family and friends and our people over the coming months.
