Rachael Chamberlain, Group Referrals Manager represented Christchurch at the annual Head First Conference held at Central Hall in London, earlier this month.
The conference, which took place on May 4th, was entitled Riding the Rapids: Negotiating the Challenges of Life after Brain Injury and was delivered by sector specialists ABI Solutions.
The event was designed to assist brain injury specialists with the challenges encountered on a daily basis. These challenges are often faced against a backdrop of limited resources and conflicting expectations, perspectives, needs and demands of the systems and individuals around the client.
In order to engage delegates, a custom-made puzzle of the brain was displayed on the Christchurch stand, which proved popular. The conference was very well attended, providing interesting and engaging content for all delegates. The brain puzzle was such a big hit that there are plans to produce something similar for use in other areas of the business.
ABI Solutions summed up the day with this quote:
“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end” – Ursula K Le Guin
Something for us all to think about.
